It’s an Obama World–
Good Question: So just to be clear, it’s constitutional to penalize someone for not showing proof of health insurance but not request proof of citizenship?

Only 23% of Arizona voters agree with Obama.

Star Parker to Run for Congress?

By Bob Ellis on March 18th, 2010

Star Parker

Star Parker

I read (what I hope turns out to be) great news today in Marvin Olasky’s latest column reprinted at TownHall.com.    Olasky says that it looks very likely that author and columnist Star Parker will be running for congress against incumbent Democrat Rep. Laura Richardson to represent the 37th District of California.

Parker has learned the hard way–through experience–that the liberal way of doing things is a dead-end street.  Says Olasky:

Parker, born in 1956, is a Republican who hasn’t held political office before, but we joked last month that she had a ready reply if attacked on grounds of inexperience: You’re wrong. I’ve stolen. I’ve lied. I know how to do wrong. Indeed she does. Drugs, armed robbery, four abortions: “I was very flirty and promiscuous, and several bouts with sexually transmitted diseases didn’t stop me.”

Parker, on welfare, learned that “welfare policy hurts the very people we’re trying to help. It boiled down to, ‘Don’t work, don’t save, don’t get married. We’ll take care of you.’”

Parker eventually was born again and became a Christian, and her life changed radically; read Olasky’s piece for more details on her transformation.

I have been attending the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. for the past three years, and each year I have had the delight to hear Parker speak at the conference.   In a conference that is packed with more than two days of fabulous top-notch speakers, Parker is always right at the top of my favorites and is probably the most dynamic, energetic speaker there.   The power of her transformed life and the message she has cannot be contained.

If she does indeed run, this will be one of the most exciting races to watch in this electrifying 2010 campaign season.  And if she succeeds in winning–which I would bet on–someone had better nail things down in Washington D.C.  With the Tea Party movement and millions of outraged Americans on the move this year, things are likely to be turned upside-down no matter what, but Parker would certainly lead the pack and carry the brightest torch in burning out the corruption and decay that has come to characterize the D.C. framework.

This is why BHO and the leftist Congress is ruining our country. This is why BHO’s approval rating is around 45%, the worst at this stage for a contemporary president. This is why Congress’ approval rating is even lower. This is why we need to throw all the incumbents out in 2010, and throw BHO out in 2012 (if our country is not totally ruined by then). How on earth can ANYONE blame Bush for these deficits?
